I love finding new clothing brands and designers. Innovation is the key to success in the fashion world. Recently I stumbled upon a new brand based in New York City, but entirely set-up on the internet. Bonobos. The company was started by a few late 20's early 30's guys who had a problem. Designer pants fit too tightly and department store pants were often way too big. They called it the khaki diaper butt. You know what that is. Sure, the waist might fit, but you've got way too much material left over. The guys over at
Bonobos.com decided to make a pant for the athletic guy who wasn't obese, but wasn't stick thin either. That's how Bonobos pants were born.
Now, don't get me wrong, these pants are not right for everyone. They are a great alternative for a large population of men out there, however. Bonobos pants are made especially for those who do not love extremely close-fitting pants. They are not baggy, but they are not going to make your thighs look like they are bulging out from your pants either. They are of a high-quality make and, best of all, are available online. The return policy is tremendous - return anything at all free of charge. I stumbled across some of their ads and couldn't help but think they are great. Martin & Osa, the relatively new brand by parent company American Eagle Outfitters, will soon be no more. This week it was announced that the retailer would be shutting its' doors after registering a significant profit loss in the most recent quarter. This is too bad. Martin & Osa was a concept store focusing on thirty year-old men and women. While it apparently never caught on, the chain had some great casual wear that was fashion conscious without being overly expensive. That's the world of fashion, however. Only the strong will survive. And you can bet you know what this means ... big sales as they move inventory out. That's one benefit we can live with.
Winter is finally nearing an end! While it's still not completely gone and we have to endure the cold weather a bit longer - this is the perfect time to buy winter items. There are some great deals to be had on winter merchandise. This alpine jacket from Pac Sun is a prime example. It used to retail around $100, but now it is on sale for only $49.99. This is a great jacket that is still going to be in style for atleast a few more years.
This week's deal of the week is a steal. Narrow ties are all the rage in men's fashion right now. I'm constantly in awe with how much a typical tie costs. There is no need to break the bank for a bit of style. One of the best kept secrets in men's fashion right now are Asian Designers. They have some great stuff that often is cheaper than American Designers. While sizing can get confusing, skinnier American guys can find some exclusive designs at great prices. A tie however, is pretty much one size fits all. There isn't much guess work when it comes to sizing. This week we're featuring the green label tie from YesStyle. This tie, which is narrow but not extremely skinny, is surprising well-made and retails for only 13.50. Definitely worth checking out ... it is our deal of the week.
