Is Ed Hardy Out of Style?

Is Ed Hardy out of style? Yes. That is the simple, easy answer. I know there might be those of you out there who still love the crazy designs, but it is time to give it up. Unless you want to be designated as a "tool", it is better to stay away from anything Ed Hardy.

A few years ago, Ed Hardy was the latest craze in the fashion industry. Ed Hardy is a famed tattoo artist based in southern california. Christian Audigier, a well-known fashion designer at Von Dutch, teamed up with the artist and used his tattoo inspired designs on clothing, shoes, and just about anything else possible. The Ed Hardy line was born. For a few years you saw celebrities sporting Ed Hardy all over town. Now, the fad has passed. Let it pass! Ed Hardy is out of style. So unless you are from New Jersey, have a great fake tan and bulging muscles - steer clear of Ed Hardy clothing. It is played out and simply looks tacky. Sorry we had to say it.

Men's United Colors of Benetton Winter 2010

For those of you who have never heard of United Colors of Benetton, you are missing out. This clothing label is huge in Europe, but does not have the same presence here in the states. There are only a few stores in New York City and that is about it. There are not many online retail options for the brand in USA either. Which leads to me to pose the question: Does anyone know of an online retailer with a selection of men's clothing from United Colors of Benetton that ships to the USA? Regardless, we love some of the looks from the United Colors of Benetton men's collection.

These looks are perfect examples of how to layer during the colder months and how to make neutral colors make bold statements. Bold, vibrant colors are great, but in moderation. If you are going to wear a strong color, choose one piece of clothing to do it in. While there are definitely exceptions to this rule, it is a good one to follow most of the time, especially during the winter time. During the spring and summer you can have a bit more fun with color, but neutrals are your friends at other times of the month. I am always reminded of a girl I went to school with who loved to dress up in the zaniest colors possible. It was cute the first couple of times, and then obnoxious. Save yourself the embarrassment of being the loud, crazy dresser. Trying new fashions already sets you apart. Wearing ridiculous colors all the time is just going to give you a lot of odd looks. If you're into that type of thing, go for it. In seriousness, learn to embrace some neutrals, but like anything - don't over do it. Just promise not to be that crazy guy who always looks like he is trying to hard.

Men's Barbour Coats

Barbour is a British family clothing company that has been around for generation. Known for their attention to detail and workmanship, men's Barbour coats are a never a bad choice. Stores such as JCrew even offer selections from their line. These coats are old-fashioned and yet updated with modern influences. Today we thought we'd show you a few of our favorites from the line. All this winter weather of late reminds me it is worth investing in a good coat.

Barbour is known for their classy outdoor look. Some of their clothes are geared towards practical outdoor and recreational use, while one of their newer lines focuses more on fashion. Both are great in my opinion. They are rugged, high quality, and simply look great. Right now you can find pieces from their line at Orvis.com and one of my favorite jackets (shown on the left) at JCrew as part as a designer collaboration. They won't come cheap, but they will last you years and years. A truly timeless piece of clothing is able to withstand time, and I think Barbour coats fit effortlessly into that distinction.

Men's After-Christmas Sales

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas! It is a bit sad to think how commercial Christmas has become, and yet - we have some amazing sales to tell you all about! After Christmas sales are notorious for big crowds, huge bargains, and lots of picked-through clothing. Today we are just going to focus on two of the best after-Christmas sales.

Express is having a great online after-Christmas sale. All clearance items are an additional 20%. Normally this wouldn't be a big deal, but honestly the clearance section is packed with great deals and great shirts and graphic tees. You can find a plethra of dress shirts in modern, fitted, striped, patterned, and military varieties for just $24 after the final discount. These really are deals you can't find but once or twice a year. Plus, there are tons of graphic tees on sale for less than $10. I personally spent a $100 giftcard and got five great shirts. This is the time to stock up. I did and can't believe how cheap I was able to do it for. In addition to a great sale section, Express is offering $30 off purchases of $75 or more and free shipping for all orders over $75. That's how I got such great deals. Mix some clearance items with an additional 20% off, a $30 dollar discount, and free shipping and you'll feel as though you just got away with something illegal. Feels wrong, but it is definitely right. Enough said. This sale only goes till Sunday night, so take advantage of it while you can.

The second men's after-Christmas sale worth talking about is over at Urban Outfitters. While this sale is mainly in-stores, you can still find some pretty decent sales online ... especially in the basic tees section. In-store, all sale items are 50% off already reduced sale prices. Literally they are giving away clothes for almost nothing. Be ready to stand in lines and fight the crowds for this sale. If you don't mind dealing with all that, you can find some bargains. This sale also ends this weekend.

Topman Store Review

Every once in a while I run across something I get really excited about. This is one of those thing. Today we're going to review Topman - a men's clothing retailer based out of the United Kingdom. Up until recently, Topman did not do business in the United States. Not anymore! This clothing store now has locations in New York and recently opened a US website. This is good news.

Topman is a large fashion retailer in Europe for men. Think of Forever 21 for women or H&M on steroids. They have a huge selection of trendy men's fashions and are generally reasonably priced. Plus, if you are a skinny or shorter guy - this place is for you. Most of their clothing is fitted well and they offer sizes down to xxs in almost all of their clothing. This is great news to smaller guys. It can be a pain to search for the right size. Most men today buy clothes that are too big and don't fit well. This causes a problem for smaller guys who are looking for well-fitting clothes. Topman has you covered. What do you guys think? A great new find?

This cold Christmas season has seen blizzards and freezing temperatures across the country. One way to stay warm and look great all winter long is adding a beanie to your look. They say more than 40% of all your body heat escapes through your head. That makes it pretty important to keep it covered up. I am always surprised how expensive most men's beanies are. Men's Chukka Boots

Men's Chukka Boots are extremely popular this year. The chukka boot is a different take on the typical men's boot and throws in some style to shake things up.

Let's face it, sometimes weather takes precedence over fashion, right? Wrong! There is no need to sacrifice.
